SORRY DAY LUNCH

At St Kilda Town Hall, 26 May, featured Welcome to Country by Bunuurong Elder Uncle Mark Brown, songs from James Henry, poetry by Uncle Dennis Fisher. Guests included City of Port Phillip Mayor, councillors, staff,  Aunty Judith ‘Jacko’ Jackson,  Ngwala Aboriginal Corporation, Salvation Army, Southport Community Housing, Southern Metro Region police, Southside Community Foundation, local schools.

PPCfR commissioned Indigenous artist Susan Naden to design a logo for the group. It was to reflect Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoplecoming together and the Port Phillip area with its land, sea and parks and resulted in the two figures surrounded byblack, brown and white-coloured 'hands' that are often used as a symbol of reconciliation, and colours of the land, sea and parks.
